UPDATED:UPDATE: "Maybe this will do"

So yesterday my friend Peter (Duck_Fan) Was nice enough to bring over his Excursion to my barn so I can try his IDM in my truck. In hopes that this would make my truck run normal... So I pulled down his wheel well and removed his IDM and then went over to my truck and pulled down my wheel well, and plugged his IDM into my wiring harness... (after I disconnected the batteries) But ofcourse that didn't make a lick of difference!!!

Same old rough idle and white smoke!!! The only interesting thing about this is that when I put both trucks back together, I also re-set my trip odometer, to see how long it would take for my SES light to come back on. It took 30 miles over two day and many starts and stops before it came on. The only reason I find this interesting is because when I picked up my truck from the dealership the SES light came back on after maybe 5 miles with only shutting the truck off once...
So Tuesday or Wednesday the truck will be going to a better dealership in Monterey so that they might figure out what is wrong. Monday I will be calling back the local dealership to remind them that I want my $ back!
As always Thanks Guys!!!

For any of you who have ever pulled out an IDM, you can imagine the frustration when we ruled that out. Not to mention the tail between our legs walk to put them back....

So I left from selling Duck Fan my bully dog went up the road to pick some stuff up from a print shop... Got back in my truck and............ CLANK CLANK CLANK once the motor fired!!!!! Right back where I started from. Since I was going to Drive to the dealership in Monterey tomarrow, I figured I would just have it towed there tonight. But no ofcourse my insurance won't cover the 30+ mile tow. So now the truck is back at the local stealership. I told them very clearly that I was not going to pay for anything! So I suppose I might get a call tomorrow with some info on what the h*ll is wrong with it. Atleast now they have a shrader valve on their compression gauge. Dont worry I will keep everyone updated...

Hopefully, this time they will at least get the right answer and we can put this whole misbegotten saga behind us.

I wonder if something mechanical is coming apart.
I smell a roller lifter that has lost it's roller or something like that.
