Troyer can get you better results. But really needs dyno tuning in person to maximize gain.

The edge has cool guages and slightly more conservative "canned" tuning.

I'm a fan of the Edge myself. the guages and OEM look are big factors for me. The SCT tuner Troyer uses can be left plugged in as well, but it is lacking a good mount.

Edge gets my vote

I agree, I prefer the Edge as well. Troyer for the electric fans!

Troyer beats out Edge any day in power, driveability and mileage, bar none.

Troyer Performance

You will get better overall performance out of a custom tune from Troyer but I really like the setup of the Edge and the performance is enough for me.

There isn't anything to customize for elevation. The computer has sensors which measure airflow and adjusts fueling accordingly. The tuners will give more power, but nothing is going to compensate for thinner air (except forced induction).

Any word on warranty issues with the Edge? I know they can tell if you plugged one in and removed it before you bring it in for something.

Can troyer tune for E85 for non-e85 (pre 06) trucks? That's the only thing that kept me away from the Bamachips deal.

This place will do custom tunes for your edge. He was one of the developers of the edge. I have custom tunes for mine and they're even better than the canned tunes.

Ask him: troyerperformance.com

As to the Edge, the thing that concerns me the most, especially when it comes to custom tuning, is that it only changes a limited number of parameters. If it could touch everything a good SCT tuner could, it might be better suited to custom tuning -- but it doesn't.
