302 Heads

My neighbor said he had a set of 302 heads and he didnt know if they were 4 barrel heads or not. I have the 2 barrel heads on mine right now. I have no idea what these are. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this numbers and letters are and what year they come from and if they are fourbarrel heads. Here are the numbers and letters:

C805-9439-A ( numbers and letters on a gasket i took off)

302 Heads

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Sep-02 AT 10:15 PM (EST)]Those are ordinary 1968-1976 2bbl heads. The 4 bbl heads where a one year (1968)only deal.(C8OE-F) By the way, that number should read D5OE-A3B. Probably the O was hard to read. What year truck/motor are you working on? The 76 and earlier heads do have smaller combustion chambers. If your engine is a 77 or later, it will have large round chambers. You could get a compression ratio increase by using the 76-down heads.

By the way, the later heads used a different rocker set-up. The different rocker set-ups use different length pushrods, so don't get them mixed up.
