Yes it will bolt on, and all body lines will match. I would make sure you have the title for the 86, since it has the vin on the dash. You will then have a 86 truck.
Any chance the wiring might be the same? or would I need to take mine from the 80? the cab on the 80 is shot(rust) that is why i want to swap and I have a chance to buy a cab complete with wiring cheap!
Thanks
If the 86 is fuel injected or it was a six cylinder with a computer, some of the wiring is going to be different. If one had a guage cluster and one had an idiot light cluster, the wiring will be a little different too.
Are the cab lines and doors the same for a 95 F150 cab onto a 84 lines/doors? I know the interior is diffrent for dash mounts and wire harness will not be a issue with me. Got a possable hit for a stripped out 95 cab only

No the lines are different between the 84 and 95.
However. You can unbolt the front clip off of the 95 and move it to the 84 then move the doors over and it will look clean.
I thought it was only a minor window height difference? I believe if you used the 95 cab, most people would never know the difference. As I said before though, you have better get a title with the 95, or take the 95 tag off and use the frame stamping. Putting the early vin tag on the later cab can get into a sticky situation. Someday you might want to sell the truck.
The cabs as far as body lines go are the same all the way up to 96 on an F150, and all the way up to 97 on an F250/350.
The only real notable difference in the doors is in the vent windows, since the later 90's trucks had the front portion of the vent window cut off.And an Early 80's vent window and glass will not work on an 87-91 truck nor will 87-91 stuff on an 80-86,Unless you get both the vent window and the door glass.I've got 1990 F150 glass in my 1980 F100,and it works, but the door glass is smaller,so it leaks.
As long as I can use my 84 doors in the 95 cab, the rest will be made to work.(84 dash mounting to 95 cab ,wires, ect). I keep finding good later model cabs but rather get the one for my age range of truck. As my luck I start using the 95 cab only to get what I really wanted.... So if anybody needs a 95 cab, check Craigslist in Ft Myers,Fla area under auto parts a few days back.
The dash actually goes fairly easy.
Been there done that. The main part is you need to weld in the column/pedal bracket from the 84 cab, once you have the column and pedal bracket mounted, the rest goes pretty easy, just need to build a few brackets/braces.
94 cab with 86 pedals and heater installed:
You'll notice that we didn't cut out the bracket that the 94 pedals would have bolted to, the truck now has the 94 dash re-installed, and the truck has been completely re-wired to suit.
The hole for the steering column was different on my swap, 83 auto trans parts into 94 standard trans cab shell. Not sure if the later auto trans models have the same smaller and rounder hole. The dash mounting was also different, I have a custom dash and had to remake the mounting brackets.
Also the holes in the firewall for the wire harness are rectangular on the 94, opposed to round on the 83.
I think the difference in the door/ glass is the pillar for the vent window is wider on the later models, so maybe the opening is larger.
For some reason the 94 cab sat about 5/8" lower on the frame, may have been the 94 mounting bushings I used .
