This is all good information to know. I recently purchased a book on bio-fuel. Havnt read too much into it but with prices clearing $5 a gallon over here I've thought about building a little "brewery" in my garage(after I finish researching).

I have been doing this for a year and had great luck. Run 30 to 50% used oil to diesel. No loss in power, good lubrication, and no loss in mpg. I have a web page and a video about it if anyone is interested on our Archers-Friend.com site. Currently each gallon of oil I use saves me $4.50. All of my costs has been returned and I am making (saving) money now on fuel cost.
Rufus, not trying to bust your bubble, but how are you filtering out the acids in the UMO (used motor oil) that occur from the combustion blow-by? I myself have run UMO, but after finding out that it has extremely small metal particles, plus acid, I figured it ain't worth it. I've also run tranny fluid, heard that it's a great fuel system cleaner due it's detergents.

Been gone to the mountains for a few days. I filter through a 10, then a 5, then two times through a 1 micron filter. That gets out the particles. The processor has a sack of beads ( don't know what they are but keep showing them to people with chemistry backgrounds ) that absorb the other bad stuff.

That is according to the manufacturer of the processor. He has been using the process for several years in everything from farm tractors to mercedes and has complete faith in the product.
