Ashtray Cup Holder

So I thought I would pick up on of these nifty ashtray cup holder inserts and all I can say it there's a reason that '70s 4x4 pickups didnt come with cup holders. This won't work unless you have a cup that totally seals shut and if that's the case save $30 and just toss it on the seat.

I installed it and on my way to work stopped for a cup of joe. I may as well have opened my door and just thrown the cup of coffee at the dash. This thing is like a coffee cup diving board. Every little bump was amplified by the cup holder shooting coffee everywhere. Live and learn but maybe I can save someone $30.

Havent had a spill yet most of the stuff I put in it has a cap but They dont fit anything larger than a can. If i go to the gas station and get a bottle or a gatorade it will not fit. kinda upnoxious and blocks the radio when there is a cup or bottle in it.

As rough as my truck rides, there would be no beer or soda left in the can. Too bad it doesn't hold 20oz bottles.

now that^ was funny!

I too find myself missing the convenience of a cupholder or 3, I recall now back in the day a few glasses of "tea" sitting on the dash and upending into the defrost vent and speaker, ughh

That was funny!

I have the seat from a 90's model truck with a fold down arm rest in the middle. So I just get a card board cup holder from McDonald's every now and again and have half of it wedged under the arm rest with two of the cup holders sticking out. LOL When the card board that secures the cups starts to get weak I flip it around and use the other two, then when those go weak, I toss it out and ask for another one. LOL

I haven't done it yet but I plan on getting a couple of cup holders for boats. You know the ones that pivot and tilt? Perfect for the hardcore wheeler. I work at an outdoors outfitter and retail on them is less than $10 ea.
