Wink Purolator "Pure One" Oil Filter??

Anyone running one of these?? I am presently running one in the Wife's PT Cruiser Turbo, that I found by accident.
Not wanting to go to the stealership for a filter I deceided to go to my local Advance auto parts and see what they had for filters.
I found the "PURE ONE" line of Purolators and bought one for the Cruiser.
Then I found they had one for the 7.3 PSD.
It says it takes 99.9% of the nasty stuff out of the oil.
I have heard that Purolator makes the FL-1995 for Motorcraft.
So those of us that were buying the FL-1995 @ Wal-Mart might want to check out the "Pure One" I am sold on this filter and Shell Rotella full synthetic oil.
Purolator also makes a "Pure One" air filter (drop in) for the 7.3 psd which is a double thickness paper with something (dry impregnated on it) I am running THIS air filter as well.
Any opinions??
I know all about the 6637 filter mod but I am not completely sold on it yet.

I run them every once and a while, they are a little cheaper cost wise. I never heard anything bad about them. I run full synthetic rotella also some times a blend 50-50 with 15-40. I think your fine. Others will chime in on your filter needs.

Wink

Well, at my next oil change I'm going with full synthetic rotella (I have it in now) and the Purolator "Pure One" filter and will send in a sample @ 5k miles to see how we're doing.

Purolator are supposed to be good filters. I think you are alright there. If you aren't sold on the 6637 are you sold on having to buy a new turbo? Because I know that the factory airbox is a piece of garbage and has been known to cause dusting of the turbo.

I have run the Purolator "Pure One" with very good results. Not scientific but my oil still looks golden brown after 4000 miles.

Pure - One

I've run them ocasionally - no issues other than they seem to 'weep' a little oil at the gasket after a few months. (We run 5-6 months btw changes)

It wasn't enough to drip onto the garage floor - it just coated the side of the filter a little bit. Most of the oil was soaked up by dust from the roads we drive on. Just had to contend w/ a dirty filter @ an oil change - actually not a bad thing - has a little grit to grip on.

Only see this with these filters - we also run NAPA Gold, Wix, Motorcraft & Fleetguard - they don't seem to do this.

PureOne

In previous Oil Filter Studies, the PureOne was found to filter really well to the point it was concidered restrictive in volume. Check out Bob Is The Oil Guy. There are various forums. Also, there is a new version of the PureOne. I've heard that many have found specks of paint inside the filter.

I hope this helps.
