So can anyone tell me why those pilots only make hard bank 90 deg turns when there's someone in the back? I guess they think it's funny.

A special thanks to all those riding in the back of those thing currently. I hope Ken doesn't come down to hard on you wolfie.

So far, it's been smooth. I thought the thread would be locked and gone right after I posted it and a reprimand in my PM's.

I guess KP likes going to stores 24/7/365 too...

I note that time has dulled the bleary mornings watching the land slip by. I used to watch for a last look of my "F" as we sailed past the parking lot - wondering if anyone would mess with it while I was gone.

24 hours is all it takes on even the newest ship to feel permanently greasy all the time for me. I think JP-5 vapor gets into the air ducts.

Guess those rep squares help a bit. I been in most of the aircraft they transport with. Well, except the Osprey. Glad I didn't have to get in that thing. I would have gotten on it though, IOT get out of some of the armpits I was in in my day.

Anyone who has no consideration of a military spouse who is alone in a time of need is below low in my book. If you have not walked the walk, STFU. Nuff said.

Those short minded people always seem to forget that the soldiers who are fighting are the ones that give them the right to voice their opinion. They're quck to bash our troops and their families, but I guarentee you they'd be the first to complain if they didnt have their freedom of speech! I happened to notice that a certain member has a little red box in place of the green one and it made me smile. Its well deserved in my mind.

They might complain in secret, but they wouldn't step up to the plate.

Thanks for that Wolf....

I'm also going over there shortly. I've had a few rides in the 130, and just got off a tour in Egypt hitching a ride there & back on a Galaxy. If you've never seen one up close or been inside one, all I can say is go find one and check it out!! Those things are friggin' unbelievable!! It's a flying parking lot!! I could not believe that we put all our stuff in it and still had room for some of the Army's equipment (I'm in the Air Guard -- Combat Comm).

Here's the inside of a C5 with our equipment going on. The "ceiling" is the floor of the pax (passenger) seating area. It's just like a regular passenger plane up there -- 3 seats on one side of the aisle and 3 on the other. But you sit facing backwards.

Huge doesn't even come close to describing it. When you walk up to and and see what just got loaded (about 100 tons!! of stuff), you really have to wonder how it gets off the ground.

EDIT: BTW, the cargo deck you see there is about 120' long.

I can't say anymore than has already been posted, God bless our troops and their families. I have a very good friend currently in Afghanistan, ARNG SF, will be there until July, I pray for his ( especially) and all the troops' safe return. And I hope the few knuckleheads have their fair share of problems sometime very soon! Good luck, Loca, and thank you and your husband for your service! I hope everything works out for you!

My dad went thru alot of that when he came back from Vietnam. Alot of soldier bashing back then even in the smaller hick towns when you would have thought they would have been more understanding for the fact that he went because his country called him to go rather or not he believed in it, he believed in his country and it was the right thing to do.

Well, I guess I missed the thread that started this conversation. I've never served in the military, but have plenty of friends that have, as well as their children that are serving right now. My heart goes out to those people and their families for what they are going through. I would have to say it is probably harder on the ones back home' wives, children, parents. God Bless those people. They surely need it.

Well, I find it atrocious when people treat their veterans or active duty soldiers with little or no respect. You might not agree with all the things your government is doing, or the wars they are involved in, but you must support your troops and vets. They are the reason we live in the best places on this earth. Up here in Canada, our veterans get special license plates identifying them as so. Every chance I get I thank them. I am not a vet or a soldier and thank my lucky stars that I don't have to be. I myself would gladly take up arms to defend my country from invaders, but I think it takes a special kind of person to be willing to go abroad and fight for others freedoms as well as our own. I highly respect that. I also like to give thanks to US and British soldiers and vets, as we are brothers and allies fighting for the same reasons and beliefs, and without each other, to lean on in times of needed support we cannot win the day outright. So thank you all actives and vets for your sacrifices you had ans have to endure.
