I was also thinking of gutting out the F250's cat and installing it on the F350 so it "looks" like it has one.
thats wut i did on mine. i think it created a little bit of a "hollow" sound in my exhaust. i'm gonna straight pipe it soon so i will figure out it that is wuts causing that sound or if it's the dp.
I live in monmouth county. I have the 3 inch down pipe going to a 4 inch exhaust then into 5 inch stacks. No cat or muffler. The turbo whistles so loud with the straight pipes. You cant beat it. I havent got stoppes yet. And they dont emission test diesels here in NJ. Atleast not yet.
I received the exhaust kit last week. I had to cut the down pipe (what a biatch) and bang out the firewall (not bad at all). Got the exhaust installed and WOW, what a difference!!! Sounds great, nice rumble and sweet whistle from the turbo. Thanks for all the helpful info Guys!!!
They make CATs for a reason. Why not use them and then when you get caught, you'll be legal and feel good about wht you did for the environment.
I'd feel better about using less fuel, having a more efficient engine and lower emissions.
all the cat does on a diesel is make the engine work more. cats were designed for gassers, and Where the cat has to be placed on a diesel prevents it from having enough temperature to fully undergo catalysis and chemical reactions.
