So i know in NJ diesel pickups are exempt from inspection and emissions now so if i wanted to install a 4 inch turbo back exhaust, and delete the cat would I be safe?
Just because they don't force you to have a state-provided inspection, doesn't mean they can't inspect you at a road block specifically looking for these things or if you're pulled over for any other reason.
Technically, you're at risk. Are you really though, that's for you to decide.
My crewcab hasn't had a muffler on it for years now, but it does have a cat. But, it's not diesel.
