2005 Super Duty Emblems Questions

Hi, I have a question about my 05 Super Duty chrome F250 emblems. I bought the truck new in 06.

The original F250 emblems are losing their black paint. Ive seen this on several trucks and have talked to the dealer about replacing them.
What I would like to do is replace all of them with the 2005 Harley Emblems, since my truck is black, I think this would be a nice improvement. I have heard the harley emblems are not available at the dealer. Is this true ?
If they are available, Wonder if the dealer would allow me to pay the difference in cost for the emblems and replace my defective emblems with the harley ones. If not I wonder if they would remove my defective emblems and give me the truck back emblemless, then I could try to find the Harley emblems and have them installed later ? I have a feeling they wont want to do this with my luck. Thanks for any input.

you can take your emblems off by using a hairdryer to heat up the adhesive on the emblem and use some fishing line to kinda saw the emblem off the truck. i don't know about the other qestions though, someone else will chim in for ya.

Dealer should be able to get the emblems, they are still available. Doubt they will replace them for you even if you pay extra.

Personally I think it is to lable your truck something that it is not.

Its like those guys that put the F450/550/650 badges on thier F250's.

Or those DUMBA$$'s that put the Crapilac emblems on thier GMC's.

To be honest, I agree on the LAME argument... but it's your truck.

Thanks for all the honest input. I appreciate the responses. I have owned a few Classic chevrolets over the years including my current 66 nova SS. I have always felt the same way about putting SS badges on a non SS car so I see where you guys are coming from.

However , I have a few reasons why I would like the Harley emblems on my truck.

I own a 2000 Harley road king classic .
I could never afford a Harley edition F250.
My truck is black.
I dont believe I will have the same problems with the paint peeling off of the Harley emblems in the future as the emblems just seem to me to be of better quality.

Pretty sure you can't just get the Harley badges as they have the Harley trucks VIN #'s right on them

i agree with the guys above. don't label it something it's not. the dealer will likely do nothing except take full price for the harley emblems. go to the link below and get the chrome emblems for your truck. i did it on my '05 when they peeled. didn't even bother with the dealer, because i didn't want to have to leave my truck with them to do such a small job, and more importantly they didn't change the emblems. so i would have just been dealing with the same thing again. don't remove them before your ready to replace. the emblems have alignment pins on them, and your truck has ------you guessed it, alignment holes. it'll look like ***** if you take them off with nothing to put back on to cover the holes.

If you are still within the 3/36K bumper to bumper warranty, it can be covered under a warranty claim. Replacement will have to be the same badge though.

That is what I done with my 2005.
