What I meant by this was use 3/4 tank. 1/4 is not enough for accurate mileage comparison. To many variables to tell an actual difference. As you are doing it with a full tank comparison, that should work
again, not my intention to burn you on this... but if you did the 11 vs. 13.5 MPG comparison earlier based on using just 1/4 tank, it just isn't enough to find out actual mileage gains. I look forward to your results from full tank test.
lol I didnt think you were trying to burn me.... that is why I post things on here..always better to have 2 minds working instead of one.
I will let yall know what I get w/the whole tank..but no telling how long it will take to run it out

Sound good!!! Be sure to post up here when you know I'll keep an eye out for your findings. Also... 11 seems a little low to begin with... heavy foot? Sometimes that will do it lol.... of course these trucks are meant to be driven HARD!!
well i recently did a test 500 miles of towing. running heavyer on the way there with 2 stroke i got 13.2 mpg on the return trip i was about 750 lbs lighter running the same speed without 2 stroke i got 10.8 mpg running the exact same speed and 750lbs lighter. i make the same trip to the same place about once a month and i consistently use the same amount of fuel on the way there as the way back, and both ways there was vurtialy no wind in any direction
OK, enough of the blah blah, here is some real scientific data from today. I had to fill up the 97SD today ($125) Seen that a quart bottle of Gulf 2 stroke oil was $2.50 so what the hey. I couldnt remember the ratio from here so I scientificly calculated in my head for a while then dumped some in the front then some in the rear tank. Had some left so I put that in the rear tank too. 1 quart and a lil bit more than half in the rear tank. Been having a miss with this truck, and still have it but only 3 miles on the trial. All I can say so far is the differance in knocks and rattles at idle is tremendous and for the price of the oil as compared to fuel price it just doesnt add materialy to the cost of driving, less knocks cant be bad can it?? I think Ill keep running it for a while.

Very Scientific...
Sorry just giving you a hard time because this still really doesn't answer the question... Someone still needs to do an actual comparison of oil vs no oil in a controlled amount of miles and driving conditions for 3/4 tank at the least

Tongue was in cheek when I was typing that Robb. I will never remember that people cant see my face nor hear my tone when posting, my fault sorry.
Anyway you are right and I too am waiting for the scientists to run it out. I am satisfied with mine in that it has much less rattle in operation.

Oh my bad.... Thought there could have been a bit of sarcasm there... but I wasn't sure

My truck also smoothed out....but people in the slot next to me at sonic still cant order lol
Have you by chance been keeping track of your mpg before and after the oil? I am interested to see how it effects different rigs. I am pretty sure I am gaining mpg (but its only been 1/4 tank) my roommates truck (also a 7.3) shows no diff whatsoever....strange
in my comparison i posted earlier i got the best fuel milliage i have ever gotten hauling the same load on the same road and the same speed (i always set my cruse at 73mph (right at 2500 rpms 4.10's) on my return trip without 2 stroke i got worse millage with less weight at the same speed both ways were 1 tank + a partial (my fuel gauge shows empty 7 gallons before im acualy empty) millage figures were hand calculated + there was a substantial differance in gauge position between trip there and the return trip

rob, next fill up I am going to be running 2 stroke (approx. 1 oz per gallon) of Yamalube (yamaha stuff for dirtbikes i got in the garage)
I have all the previous data from the past 3375 miles of driving on an excell spreadsheet, and I will compare that data to the data from when I run the 2 stroke with stanadyne. Right now I am getting 13.27 MPG.

I keep track of my mpgs in a little pink book (only had the truck for the last 700miles so only 700 miles of data) in the glove box lol....peopes faces are pretty hilarious when I jump out of my big ol truck and start writing in a little pink/flowery gas book w/kittens on the cover
haha thats pretty funny the way you keep track of your mielage. it must be a site to see you getting out of tour 350 jotting down your notes in your book.
its actually the windows vista version of excell, i got the computer in 2007 so it may be called the 2007 version too. regardless, vista is awesome. everything is very aesthetically pleasing and pretty simple to use. there are alot of handy features in all of the new programs. overall, i love vista. its 1000 times better than XP. i even have fun doing my homework in the new MS word haha
Brian (ice) sounds good! Look forward to hearing your results! Keep us posted!!!
Not a big fan of the new version of excel, just worked on it for a parking garage project. Saved it and brought it over to my laptop with 03. Once you get used to something... It's hard to make the change
