Alrighty here is what I have so far...
After 1/4 tank of all city driving I have gone from 11mpg (w/out the 2stroke oil) to 13.5mpg (with the 2stroke oil)
I will try to make it out on the highway for the next 1/4 tank and see what happens.
This sounds like it could be pretty handy... do any of you use the motorcraft additive that Ford sells i have used it a couple but haven`t noticed much how does the 2 stroke compare?
I just filled up and added 1pt of Supertech to each tank. I've only driven it a few miles but it might be getting a little quieter. I won't drive it much until the 18th when I leave for vacation. With the price of fuel I hope I get better mileage.
Wow... some ppl here get an extra mpg???
i tried a 16 oz bottle split between two empty tanks.
I always fill at the same station, and my mpg went nowhere... down to two decimal places it stayed the same! and i run a routine that hasnt changed more than two miles, except for the rare trip somewhere nice.
However, i did notice a bit more black smoke!!!
I don't know if it this will help with this topic, but I have had two Blackstone tests done on my oil. I did not check the mileage as I am pumping out of a 100 gallon tank in my bed.
1 - 4500 miles, with FPPF fuel additive at the max recommended amount and Lucas fuel
additive at the max recommended rate.
2 - 4500 miles with no additives.
To make a long story short, my second test was better than my first. The additives did not help any. If an additive moves your mileage from 18 mpg to 20 mpg, the savings is only 2 cents a mile (18 mpg at $4 a gallon vs. 20 mpg at $4 a gallon). When you take th cost of the additive out, you didn't gain much at all. So, at this stage, I don't believe in additives.
Thats definately a good point.
But that depends on the ratio you use.
I go a thousand miles a month, almost exactly, so two cents a mile would be $20 a month. If i got that good of a gain out of the additive, and am only spending $10 a month on it, im saving money.
Plus the eventual savings of a longer lasting engine (with a good additive! no lucas)
But i dont see any MPG difference, soo... I'll just go to bio!

How have you figured this out with only 1/4 tank??
If you going to do an actual test try this out...
Fill at a station that you will buy from all the way to the top. Reset your trip odometer and drive till your down to say 1/4. Pull into the same station and add 2-stroke Fill and then divide miles by gallons added. Then drive around with your 2-stroke oiled tank for around same miles in same driving conditions and fill and calculate mileage. This will give us an accurate comparison

I guess I should splain it better...
Suppose he gets 250 miles on a tank by the time he gets down to 1/4 tank. My buddy is saying that now after adding the 2cy oil he can go 320mi by the time he gets down to 1/4 tank.
Ya, he's doing it right... if he's filling it up at that point...
Gas guages are not linear!
and if you believe they are, i hope you have a good tow service.
Humm... not sure how after 1/4 a tank you can figure mileage...

Maybe I'm wrong thought. Maverick, just so you know, I'm by no means disrespecting you here.... just like to see a test with more miles...I would do the test myself this week, but the only 2 things that go in my tank are Diesel and Power Service. Not Acetone or 2 stroke oil. Sorry...
What I have been doing is if I take numbers at the same point every time 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 with and without the oil it should give me the difference in mileage....sorta like plotting 2 lines on a graph
Eventually I will get to the higher miles once I get to useing up the full tank but that is all the driving I have done so far
and I have been refilling at 3/4 tank like you siad robb....same place same amount. I am now trying it w/a full tank instead of only using 1/4 tank.
