will i need either of these if i decide to go wtih a dominater and stage II. and LIGHT towing 2-3k sometimes. i will have gauges tymar intake, hpop, dp, and stacks. will this run alright without intercooler and / or headstuds for a while? thanks, dan
Well, Tim or Bill or Joe can chime in here... But I think you'd be ok as long as you're keeping an eye on egt's. IC gives you cooler, denser air and more power, (maybe a little drop in EGT's). Headstuds arn't necessary unless you building BIG power. stock studs can defiantly handle 2's
U still have stock HPOP (15º?) may run a SEL ir ur in it REAL hard. maybe a 17º in future, or a Pulse
diesel site. If you have the $$$$$ go pulse. If not, then 17º should be good for 2's. Buddy of mine has an early 99 with 15º and 2's. Only sets SEL if it's to floorboards.
not sure, I was going to send you to beans site. I though He may have had some... Maybe another diesel site around here? Ebay? .... You know you want a Pulse anyways! wish they didn't hit the wallet so hard... anything good isn't cheap!
Headstuds probably won't be needed but 40 PSI boost is the majic number there. Plus the D66 isn't recommended for over 40psi. IC will probably be want/needed before studs but both of those all depend on your right foot and are easily controllable.
I don't think 2's and a D66 will hit 40.... Least my freind's SD wont, run out of oil before 40 PSI.... Maybe with a pulse it's possible? I'd think you need more than that to hit 40... could be wrong tho...
sweet.im not sure of the d66. but 98% sure im pickin up injectors, gauges, hpop. and what i really needed from get go. and transmission from racer x pieced together by a friend of mine who does side work out of the dealership (hes good enough that they don't care if he does side work. he been doing transmissions for their dealership for like 25 years)
