Lowering...

I've come into possession of the 2001 Super Crew noted in my signature. I'm not a big fan of the fact that the thing is lifted at least 4". Granted, it looks cool, but my looking cool days are behind me. What would be involved in lowering it back to stock? I know I couldn't keep the 35" BFGs , but I'm thinking that all I need to do is remove stuff. Would this be a big deal? I've never dealt with lifted vehicles before and don't know where to start.

Well, your sig says supercab and your post says supercrew?? I'm confused

Anyway, if it hasn't had a body lift, then It is probably got different front springs and spacer blocks in the rear to raise it up.

Ooops, Ok fixed the signature. So, if I wanted to lower it I'd probably need: New springs for the front, probably shocks, tires and wheels and take out whatever blocks might be in there. Here is the only picture I have of it at this point.

Well it doesnt look like it has a body lift, so maybe(hopefully) the previous owner just put in spacers in the front and bigger blocks in the rear.. but if not you might need to replace the springs. If you found a f-150 at the scrap yard that wasnt hit on the axles, wheels, etc you could take the springs off of it..

Well, after checking it out a bit more, it does not seem like it will be too big of a deal. On the rear The only thing I can see is blocks on top of the axle. There might be an additional leaf spring, but they all look the same (age wise). There are 4 leafs, is that standard? Whats a good place to get the U-Bolts?

On the front, everything looks identical to the picture in Chiltons, seems that I would only need to find some springs. Seems odd to me that there isn't anything else under there. Basically all you need to lift a truck (at least a 4X2) is blocks for the rear and springs for the front (well, shocks too).
