Well, I was kicking around the idea of running a ram air intake through the middle slots on the sides of the front bumper, but then I realized that I couldn't run a 4" tube through without interferring with the front tires .....
So I decided to do what most of you guys do, take out some metal from around the radiator, but I did this to both sides. I got the idea of running duals from Cheaperjeeper, but I didn't want to take out my front parking lamps.
I just happened to have a spare air cleaner housing from a rolled 7.3 I got for $100. I cut it out and cut a hole in the good air cleaner. Then rivited the second snorkel on.
Next, I cut about a 5-6"x 3" hole on both sides of the radiator and then reinforced it till I was satisfied. I then mounted the ducts on with self tapping screws untill they weren't wiggling or anything.
Then all that was left to do was to put on the hoses and band clamps to button everything up.
The only other thing I had to do was to relocate the dipstick, as it was in the way of the second snorkel; I just unbolted the braket and shifted it over 1 bolt.
I will put up pictures when the computer isn't being stupid on me ...
how did you get past the batteries? i've been trying to find a way to do dual ram setup like cheaperjeeper without doing the running light mods but didn't have a grasp on where to take the hoses. looking forward to pictures as i bought a "parts" truck complete for $300 bucks so have spare breather assembly to cribbage a snorkle from.
speedrdr
Well the computer was cooperating and I got as many pics I could take before the batteries died on my camera. I need to get more picturs tomorrow with fresh batteries to get a close up on the finished product.
It is a tight squeeze by the batteries, and I forgot to mention , I also had to move the horn.....you guessed it, in the way.
Can't wait to drive it tomorrow and see if there's any difference (even the seat of the pants feel).

Reason: missed something
great pics of the install. is that a/c ducting or what that you used to go from the snorkle to the inlet at the grill? also, where did you move the horn to? around here with 12,000 ignorant students in the way, gotta have a horn. LOL.
yeah, you're right. tossed the stock horn on son's toyota and put air horns instead. it DOES tend to get attention from most of the brain-dead drivers here. LOL
It looks like there is a robot sitting in your engine bay. Nice work though. I swear, this is a project that the wife sees you working on and she is thinking to herself "WTF is my stupid husband doing now"

NICE! The air cleaner and description of what you did with the dipstick seem eerily familar LOL!
1 of the new pics shows where the horn is, but I forgot to put it in the caption.
horn? who needs a horn? that's what really BIG bumpers are for. LOL
BTW, the pics are excellent. gotta get to work on building one on mine. how does the "seat of the pants" feel with it all hooked up?
Yes I will post mileage after a couple tanks. But that might be while since I drive that truck very little, just for runs to TSC, the feed mill, and the lumberyard. So far, I get 12mpg with the tank.
