currently i pull about 7000 pounds on a 5th wheel camper setup.
lookin to upgrade the camper. the new rig will weigh about 10000 pounds.
i know my truck will pull it. the problem is, i know with my current setup, i have a hard time climbing hills at freeway speeds. if i go to a 10000 pound setup, will the problem get a lot worse, or is the truck "governed" somehow and won't notice the difference?
when your going up a hill what rpms are you turning and what speed are you travling at? if you are low in RPMs turn off over drive and kick up the RPM's
also you may want to invest in a tow safe chip.

downshifting on some hills is a must i'll admit.
trying to hold 65 that way really makes the engine scream.
hence the question....
currently i will only downshift when the EGT's get too high.
forgot to mention that i have the edge programmer tuned to tow mode.
i also installed 4" exhaust and high flow k&n air intake.
A-piller gages also for safety.
i dont have any trouble pulling 10k with my truck up or down hills, i have a 5 speed and 4.10's i very rairly have to down**** into 4th to pull hills, i turn 2500 rpms at just over 73mph, if you have 355's your probably just want to stick to driving with the od off.
BTW: I have the same truck and it pulls 10K easily. No chip (I think, never looked) but the EGT's stay under control with tons of power. It gets a little doggy when pulling 22-23K
i'm starting to think there is a sensor or somethin wrong under the hood on mine cuz it dogs on hills. a lot of guys say they pull really heavy stuff, but i'm struggling with 7K.
sorry, i'm not that joat.....i too would like to say kudos to that guy!
this has been my computer name forever, not trying to scam off anyone.
