gauges

whats up

hey im interested in buying a boost and pyromiter guages for my truck and i was looking at autometers but i was wondering what is the big difference between mechanical and electric and is electric that much better. also if i get a chip and stage one injectors idk how hi of a boost gauge i should get, 30 maybe?

I like electric gauges better. Its easy to run wiring than tubing. But my boost gauges is mechanical and thats not big deal. Pyro's are electric gauges so no problem there. Temp and liquid pressure gauges I like electric gauges.

If you are planning on stage 1's anything less than a 35psi will be a waste.

The electric gages may be a little easier to install IMO. They are just about equal as far as accuracy. My boost is mechanical...all EGT's are electrical AFAIK. Follow the EGT instructions carefully, some require that the wiring NOT be shortened. 30 PSI boost should be OK unless you plan on big HP mods... then a 40 PSI gage might be better.
