I didn't supply the parts for the 4wdb, so I'm not positive of the supplier. I think it was Stainless Steel Brakes for one and Tom's Bronco Parts for the other. They were both based on the Caddy caliper setup. I think they were about $700-800.
Didn't come with a master cylinder or a prop valve though. I always take a wait and see approach with them, even when doing front disc conversions. Every Bronco and braking system reacts differently. There are some that need nothing, one or both the master cyl and prop valve to make them stop properly.
You don't have to, but the pedal effort is much easier with it.
I personally don't like vacuum power brakes on the trail with a manual transmission. Inevitebely, you will kill the engine on a steep climb or some other technical situation. I want to know that the pedal feel is going to be the same and that I know how much pressure its going to take to stop. Thats JMHO. I will probably go to hydroboost one of these days and add a electro/ hydraulic accumulator so it will work with the engine off.
i look at these street rods who have the multiple master c.. and wonder why that wont work.
very compact also.
i dont want a booster if i dont have to have it...
