Re-read my post and rethink your response. My response was geared towards the 01 4.6 vs. the 06 5.4, my 01 S'crew weighs a good 700 lbs. less than my buddies '06 S'Crew.

Regardless of the generational weight differences, a bare 5.4 NVH block weighs 210 lbs. vs. 159 lbs. for a bare 4.6 iron block. Throw in the 5.4s heavier crank, rods, intake manifold and timing chain cover and you're looking at nearly a 100 lb. weight difference between the two engines once assembled and dressed. Then there's the 8.8 vs the 9.75.

oh...I misread your post. We're saying the same thing but from different sides.
