engine removal question
this question pertains to my 86 F150 and my 88 grand marquis, both EFI 302's. i don't have the place or equipment to pull a motor to do an overhaul. i was wondering if a guy could remove the engine piece by piece, do what's necessary, and reassemble it into the vehicle piece by piece. sorry if this sounds stupid. i'm more or less just curious.

Sorry, but you really need a hoist....I used to lift up the back of front drive cars for a joke, and I would not even attempt trying to deadlift a short block out and over the fender. By the way, are you the '88grandmarq' on Crownvicmuscle.com?

88, do you mean do an in-frame overhaul, leaving the block in place? This can be done, but if you need crank work, or the motor has to be bored, it has to come out. Aside from that, you can overhaul a motor while it is sitting in the vehicle, it just gets kinda awkward. If you have any specific questions, e-mail me, or send me a private message.
