What stuff should I do to my 351w 1990 fullsize bronco engine when I rebuild it? Any suggestions on cam, heads, stroke it?, upper and lower intake manifolds?, 56mm twin throttle body?, am I going in the right direction for a high torque low rpm engine? What pistons should I use?
depends on how much you want to spend. personally id get a nice set of heads and a cam, then go from there. is it peed density, or did you convert to mass air?
Ford Motorsports has a conversion kit that you can get from most of their retailers (Summit can get them). Best I can remember they are around $600. They are designed for the 5.0L but FM says that you can contact them about what to change to make it work with the 351. My guess is that you just hook up the fuel injectors in a different order, because the mass-air conversion also converts the injection from bank-to-bank (all 4 left fire, then all 4 right fire) to sequential (each injector fires when it's respective intake valve opens). Hope this helps
I forget who did the article, but some magazine did a EFI351 build-up for a Bronco that yielded an extra 64bhp,and 69 lb./ft. of torque.I remember those two figures clearly, because,at the time,I had a '93 F-250HD 4x4 regular cab, with a EFI351,and thought about building it to their specs.Actual rear wheel horsepower from the add-ons was probably like 40 horsepower.
