I soaked some towels in WD-40 (from a large jug) and wrapped the tube in the towels. About every 30 minutes I re-soaked the towels. After about 2 hours I took a drill with wire wheel and off came the glue. I had pulled the foil off prior to that with pliers. I didn't think it was too bad of a job...just have to let the WD-40 do its magic.
I found that DK worked really well. What I don't have is any increased whistle. In fact I don't really have ANY whistle. I even cranked it up with the tube off and no whistle? But the turbo seems to be working properly otherwise. Even blowed off a boot that I er...um.....uuggh....forgot to properly tighten. Danged ole Bud Light.
Wats "Sol-U-Strip"? Im outa SOS pads so Im waiting untill tomarrow to finish it..
It's real thick adhesive remover. You can gob it on there and let it set. The thread I linked to above tells you all about it. Lowes has it, but Home Depot didn't (at least last year when I did mine).
