It's actually a Hurst, but yah, I like it. It changed the truck feel from 'farm truck' to 'urban street machine'.
Ok that's pushing it.. it's still an old farmers wife's truck with a floor shifter. I like it.

Look at the bottom of the steering column underneath the hood for the trans control selector lever where the shift rod attaches. Inside that selector lever is a snap in bushing. There's another like bushing in the manual control lever on the trans, where the shift rod attaches. Either one or both of those bushings is either missing, cracked or worn. That'll cause slop in the the shift lever and it may not engage the transmission.
Ask Mil1ion to post these two parts catalog illustrations...both show how the SHIFT ROD attaches...Look for the Ford basic part number of 7341 = the bushings.
Section A70.2 / Page 9 upper pic, shows the trans manual control lever, other parts.
Section A71 / Page 7 lower pic, shows how the shift rod attaches to the control selector lever, on the bottom of the steering column.
Both bushings are the same, and are available from Ford, NAPA, etc.
The "snap in" bushing is either black or green plastic and it has a shoulder on it.

Here's my B&M Zgate shifter I just put in my truck. It'll look better after I get my new carpet. My truck has a C4 but the instructions are the same for the C6 you just use a different cable bracket.
