Think of the warranty before modding
You might keep in mind that Ford has a factory warranty on diesel engines that is good up to 100,000 miles regardless of who owns the truck. And basically anything deemed a modification by a dealership (dealerships' rules seem to vary) can void the warranty.
I've got all sorts of things in mind for my truck. But having already needed repair work done under the hood on my '05 psd I'm not going to touch a thing until after my engine reaches 100,000 miles. Ford's warranty has already saved me more than $2,300.
