thanx for the diagram...doesnt really help me much since i dont have even half of that....for my dual port vac advance, should i only use the main one?...if not, the main is ported right?, and the other is full vacuum?
Ford sells speedometer cable lube, but it's actually white lithium grease.
Only a verythin coating of grease should be used on the entire length of a speedometer cables inner core. You do not grease the inside of the housing itself (which might be a tad difficult).
If you use too much grease, the inner core may bind up, and will not turn in the housing.
You can buy a replacement speedo cable's inner core from any autoparts store.
Just cut it to the correct length, and install it.
alright everything is correct, should i leave my second vac port on the advance unhooked? i also found my speedo problem, about half of the teeth are wore down and there is a portion of the sheath that is wore/burnt through...just get a new one?
