thanx for the diagram...doesnt really help me much since i dont have even half of that....for my dual port vac advance, should i only use the main one?...if not, the main is ported right?, and the other is full vacuum?

Ford sells speedometer cable lube, but it's actually white lithium grease.

Only a very thin coating of grease should be used on the entire length of a speedometer cables inner core. You do not grease the inside of the housing itself (which might be a tad difficult).

If you use too much grease, the inner core may bind up, and will not turn in the housing.

You can buy a replacement speedo cable's inner core from any autoparts store.

Just cut it to the correct length, and install it.

I thought you wanted the original hose routing because you wanted to install all of it.

Now it sounds like you only want basic vacuum lines

V/H from VA to timed port on carb

V/H from Vacuum tree to A/T modulator,Large hose to Brake booster

Does this truck have A/C ?

alright everything is correct, should i leave my second vac port on the advance unhooked? i also found my speedo problem, about half of the teeth are wore down and there is a portion of the sheath that is wore/burnt through...just get a new one?

You have an advance/retard mechanism.

You can lug the Retard port.

hmmmm, i just looked on ebay and lmc truck at speedo cables and they dont have a big green gear that goes into the tranny....

That's because the gear determined by the axle ratio and transmission

The gear comes off. just remove the retaining clip
