Red face Help

We have a 1991 E350 Tioga Motorhome, it won't start. Has been started and moved around the property for the last few years just not driven on the road due to some family health issues. Tried to start it and it would start for a second with fuel starter(?), replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, drained fuel tank, new battery. Tried starting it by using a 5 gal gas can attached to fuel pump, mechanic removed fuel rail on one side and said there is a blockage at the back of the engine where the fuel rail is connected. Fuel is going in alright but not making it to the other side. Does the system need to be sealed for it to start? How could the fuel rail be cleaned?

Mechanic is now talking about replacing injectors also. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to be taken advantage of because I'm a woman. The mechanic is one who comes to your home.

I had that problem with my 88 E350 winnibego RV. On mine it was the fuel tank pump that failed. The fuel rail on the 351 and 460 engines are fairly easy to dismantle and blow out with compressed air as wellas injector replacement. I would check the fuel regulator before changing all those parts.

Thank you. Could you please tell me where the fuel regulator is located and how do you test it?

It's been quite a while , I've been running diesel for the longest time. As far as I can recall it is located at the head of the fuel rail where the chasis fuel lines attach. I wish I could be of more assistance.
