i bought a 96 f150 with a 4" rancho suspension lift. the truck sits a little lower in the back end, it has a 1 1/2" block and i fighured out that if i put a 5" block in to replace it it would lift the back up enough to where i want it. it waqs wondering where i would have to go to get one of thoughs and how i would go about putting it in and if the drive line is short how whold i extend it?
Lifts should never be done with blocks.......you can find them that big or make them that big......but if you do you oughta be drivin a cheverolet......The reason lift kits bulldog towards the back is so when you stomp the gas all the weight gets dispersed to the rear end better traction and less weight up from so you can float over obstacles.....If you do those blocks...you're not only an idiot...you should be hung.
i really dont agree with that, the only thing you have to be weery of with blocks in the rear is axle wrap. Ive ran countless number of jacked up trucks and we never make the rear smaller.. my advice would be to look into either add-a-leaf kits, or get some custom springs made. add ins would be cheaper, but im not sure if you could find the size you need
If you have a 1 1/2 block now, just get a stock F350 4" block. If you do go to high with the blocks the rear can kick out and its not pritty when it does. Never double stack blocks, or put blocks in the front. Just unsafe. If you have a 1 1/2 block now, and you want a 5" block you know much higher that is? Your rear end will be way up there. If its sagging that much, id look into springs as 91F250 said.
now that im thinking about it, i think its beetween 94-97 f-650, there leaf springs provide 6" of lift for our stock trucks, they wouldnt be the smoothest riding things, but its cheap..just a couple options
as far as i know there 3" wide, an option for your 350 is to do a front shackle reversal, the shackles are in the front of the leafs instead of the rear, they sell kits, there fairly cheap, look it up on google. it really helps to smooth out the ride without doing much work.
