Can i use a 10k mod with my dp or will it even make a difference in my truck.Im sure Jody does this in his tune but someone told me that the 10k mod will raise the icp more then the dp and is stackable.I know that i read somewhere on here that the dp will over ride the 10k or any other tuner. Thanks Chris
Thers only so much you can do with just a chip, Im not sure how much or if at all you will get more power....Im NOT an expert but thats just my .02 cents.
You can call Jody and Im sure he will be able to tell you what you would like to know about stacking them.
I wouldn't do it. I don't think Jody leaves much on the table, and you may be playing with fire. Like mentioned, I would call him. If you need more ICP let him know, you may need big oil. What kind of ICP #s are you showing? If you don't know, stop where you are.
You won't get any more power. There are quite a few trucks with HPOP's that can't even keep up with the ICP demand from Jody's 80 Econo tune, much less the 140 setting. In some cases you'll just get more smoke on the top end when using a 10K mod with DP-Tuner. Jody's tuning already calls for quite a bit of extra oil.
And chips don't override 10K/18K mods, so you are correct saying that they do "stack". But since the tuning already takes care of the ICP tables, there's no reason to add a 10K on top of it. If you go with big oil and want more oil pressure, it's still best to send the chip back to Jody and get big oil tunes put on it.
By relying on the chip's tuning for ICP, you get a better match of oil pressures to go with the fueling. That results in better throttle response, less smoke, and smoother power.
