Hello, I am thinking of putting my 552ci engine together myself once the block comes back from the machine shop, I went out and purchased a good torque wrench. I have all the torque specs for the 460ci block. As I have nearly built this car myself, I installed the new 9 inch rear, disc brakes, gearbox, put the 460ci crate engine in.. As Im thinking it cannot be that hard... as when its finished I would like to say I put the whole car together ! I am a perfectionist so I know I will do it right with a little help, any things to look out for... Thanks Jamie.
One Question I need to ask, as I was going to use a Ford Racing hydraulic camshaft it had 600/620 lift I purchased the cam/ lifters and 3/8 pushrods all together, but I have since sold the cam and lifters, Can I use the 3/8 push rods with the Comp cams solid flat tappet camshaft and solid lifters... Solid camshaft has around 649/641 lift, Thanks Jamie.
if both are flat tappet cams they should be ok. But did you check VT geometry when you ordered the pushrods to make sure they were the right length? If so then your good to go.
