Fuel Pumps run continuesly with key on engine off, and truck wont start.

Either that or the relay is stuck closed. I am not too sure on these models but I have seen relays weld themselfs closed in other applications. Something to check?

fuel pump problems

Try changing fuel filter first.Cheap and easy. They will get clogged and not allow
system to reach pressure to shut down.Had same problem with 92 and changed filter.Good luck.

The 2-second operation of the fuel pump at initial key-on is independent of fuel pressure, so a clogged fuel filter will not cause the pumps to run continuously with the key on. There's actually no fuel pressure sensor at all on these year trucks.

While it may be the computer, it's still good practice to troubleshoot the rest of the system before throwing in a relatively expensive computer.

No reason not to check the relay, but like QL says, its most often the ECC.

always a good idea to trouble shoot all possible problems.

i hope it is something simpler, or cheaper than the computer.
