Wooooooooohoooooooooooo!!!!!!! Problem Sorry Problem(s)!!! Solved With New Eec:):)
like bill and quikclook said.. running fuel pump.. bad ECU symptom!! and they were right!!!! thanks allot quicklook and bill (subford) and everyone else
i found an 1989 van E something.. had an 5.8 with an E4OD !! cheked the code on the computer... and it matched the one bill gave me PERFECTLY.. so we swapped it.. and now the truck runs SMOOTH!! gr8 !! and no more waiting 30 minites for the fuel pump to stop prime for it to start.. and no more overdrive botton comes on and off when i press the brake..
it runs like a new truck now.. idles so smooth i forgot i have an muffler.. and can finally enjoy my music, no more WOOHOOHOOO HUM in the cabine
ohh yeah the truck gave me my valentine present early she loves me.. now i can go out with mine valentine and dont have to wait for it like a jet turning its turbines before for it to start lol... hope the truck doesnt get jelous :P
why is it when in D or R and idling at 500 the volt meter slowly decreases.. then immedetly when i start running again it goes back to normal.. but does this only when the headlights are on.. any ideas? maybe dirty IAC ?
Have your alternator output checked when you've got a load on it (fan blower on, headlights on, etc.,.) Mine use to do that until I upgraded the alternator.

From what I have seen, and on my truck, this is normal. The alt just can't keep up with the load at that low an idle. That is why we have batteries.
Dont worry about the idle from my knowledge all fords do that at idle it goes low then acceleration it jumps back up again to the range it was in same thing happens when i turn on the lights or heat etc happens in my dads truck alternators are perfect and batteries are good
ok .. thank you... i have a new battery also and new alternator so.. everything is goood ...
only one small other consern.. when it starts.. it idles at 300 then 600 does this 3 times then flatens out... like it wants to die.... maybe i should reset the ECU ?
