I am looking at adding a box cover to my truck and was looking for input. The retractable type like the Pace Edwards jackrabbit or Retrax are nice but I see the canister takes up some box room and they are pricey. I have also looked at the Truxedo and others that roll up and seal with velcro. They are less expensive but dont look quite as good - the stiched areas tend to look a bit 'dog eared'. Any of the hard covers wont work because I need to use my hitch to pull trailers.
I have the Truxedo LoProfile on my second truck now and have had no problems with it. I replaced a Roll N Lock with a canister at the front with the Truxedo on the first truck so my quad would fit and I had more bed space. I was happy with it so I put the same one on my Super Duty within a week of buying it. It removes completely in about 2 minutes so it allows 100% use of my box whenever I want. When it is in place and rolled up, I get about 97% useable space. Never had a problem with any stitched areas getting dog eared, just take care of it and keep it cleaned. The Truxedo is also great in the winter - my Roll N Lock used to freeze continuously but I can use the Truxedo year round.
I only remove it when the quad is back there because my aftermarket bumper runs into it at the front of the box, but at least the tailgate goes up easy.
I'm going with a Red's Bed aluminum deck cover from

It's hinged (3 or 4 hinges) allowing easy access. It's more robust than a vinyl cover, but not as difficult to work around as a one piece hard top.
LaredoF350, I ended up getting both of my Truxedo LoPro covers from Max at Perfection Paint & Body. He had a much better price than Tiger and he also did both of my spray in box liners. One of the people who work there used to be at one of the custom shops and she said the Truxedo is better than the Access at holding up to our weather - it was their recommendation and I have been very happy with it. The second one I got for my F250 was the Truxedo Lo Pro QT. Didn't have that option available on my first one, but you will love the ability to adjust or remove it in no time flat if you need to. I can't remember exactly what I paid as both times I had them do my spray in box liner but it beat Tiger's price by about $75 to $100 before tax. I think it was around $500 or so.
I have a folding hard cover on my truck, I dont know who makes it, but it is very nice. The truck had a fifth wheel hitch in it before I bought it, but the previous owner left the cover on it. It is 4 sections, the back 3 fold up and lay on the first one. Leaves plenty of room for my gooseneck hitch. The front cover also flips over to get stuff out of the very front of the box. It also locks, front and rear. It will also come off with a 5/16 wrench or socket. Has 2 screws that hold the cover to the hinge. If you are interested the brand, I will check it out and get a pic and info for you.
I got an Undercover hard tonneau on my truck. Had it for several years and really like it. My SB model weighs about 40 lbs and can be taken off in under 30 seconds.
