Ok first off, I have a 2006 F-250 that I am putting a 6" fabtech basic lift on.
So I have my lift kit and get the front installed (all day, not 3 hr job, BTW) and go to do the rear which is supposed to be u-bolts and blocks and open the box for the rear stuff and its assorted (unneeded) hardware, no blocks or u-bolts! So I have the front done, and am stuck.
Being the weekend, I cant even call the place I ordered the stuff from, but I am going to have to make the blocks and get u-bolts locally because I have to drive the truck monday.
Can someone please tell me how tall the blocks are supposed to be and how long the u-bolts should be? I can guess and probably get very close, but if someone has the kit and could measure, I would really appreciate it.
your best bet may be to wait till the place you bought your stuff from opens.
I have no idea where you're going to buy u bolts on a sunday holiday
that said, you should have 2" blocks in the rear. if you're going up 6 n the front, how much do you want to go in the rear?
Lots of people raise the rear less to even out the ride
I dont think your going to find U-bolts from the auto parts store. my friend tried to find them for his 3"" lift and they were special order. depending on the block height add that to the bolt length then allow for about an inch or so longer then what you need to allow for enough threads to be past the nut. also make sure you figure out the right type of u-bolt you have.
chock this one up as one of life's little lessons....the parts list might not be such a bad thing to go over before starting any serious mod....hope you have your problem fixed.
