F-250 U-Bolts for leveling F-350?

I have purchased a set of F-250 long bed rear blocks to level out the rear of my LB F-350. I've been trying to get new U-bolts through my local dealer. I believe I need F-250 U-bolts which should be shorter to accomodate the shorter rear block. However when the F-250 U-bolts came in at the dealer they measured the same length as my F-350 U-bolts and the threads are not deep enough to work with the F-250 blocks. Am I missing something here. I've since contacted FTE parts guy hoping he can help me out also.

When i purchased the u-bolt's for the 350 blocks they were a little longer than i expected but the thread length just made it. I think this may be because they have different spring pack heights depending on the quantity of the pack but this is just a guess.

I purchased p/n-5C3Z-5705-AA so if these are what you have they are definitly to long. I also purchased from Ed (FTE Parts guy).

Ford's part# search calls this for the 05-06 F250, 05-07 F350 and 08 F350.

This tells me the that it may be difficult to get the correct one. Try going to your local Ford parts person and they may have different diagrams and p/n's available. You may have to search thru their database o find the correct ones. I probably could have got slightly shorter ones as well if i had know they were on the long side.

One thing I learned when doing this. There are (2) different size u-bolts for the F-350 blocks and (2) for the F-250.

The difference when ordering---- is do you have the factory auxiliary spring AKA camper package, single spring on top of pack.

This spring adds about 1" to the length of the bolts needed!!

Good Luck!

I do have the camper package. I really need to get this right. I've ordered them twice now and still have not found the right ones. The part numbers I've ordered so far are

5C3Z*5705*BA
5C3Z*5705*AA

Well, mine did not have them so my bolts measured 11-3/4". I think you could look around online and order u-bolts for a f250 with camper package - should work.

I recieved a Ford TSB in a PDF from PowerStrokeHD about lowering the rear end for 5th wheel use etc. It stated the part # I needed for the correct U-bolts however, it also stated if necessary replace center bearing and or shim. It noted in bold "Failure to update the center bearing bracket, if required, may result in driveline shutter". It also call for new shock absorbers. Does anyone think I need to be concerned with all this? I don't want to open up a huge can of worms for my self just to level out the rear. If you would like a copy of the TSB send me a PM with your email and I will forward it to you.

Rob--try it first, you might not need shims. Also, the shocks should be fine as the F250 and F350 use the same shocks.

Ok, but I feel really stupid (green)! What is the center bearing and how would I know if I need to shim it.
