Oh yeah, mo' junk!

I froze my kazatski off today but came back with some more nice finds.

Mint chrome door handles (interior and exterior), some black handles, intermittent wiper switch, center console, nice early radio and instrument cluster bezels, another under hood utility light and a nice aftermarket tailgate for a Bronco.

Man, those things are FREAKIN' heavy! And it's empty too!

I said something about this post, and have decided not to stick my nose into it. I am glad we have I think a hour to edit our posts.

Sorry Dave. I had no idea it was bugging you so much and I won't do it again.

I never tried pushing anything here, I was just letting everyone know that good parts can be had in local yards if you take the time to look. I've only ever tried to help people out that need stuff to restore or modify their trucks.

I'm not here to make money, just to pass along information and parts if need be and hopefully learn something in return. Which I have.

I think Uncle.Stosh just likes to tease us. Wish I could find stuff this clean out here. Not that many of our trucks in our local junk yards and the ones that are are fairly well picked over. Anything that is left is covered nicely in dust, sand and haven for many a desert critter. Makes scrounging a challenge though :0)

I also enjoy seeing his stuff, it's kinda rare for me to find "decent" parts in the junkyards + he gives me some ideas. In fact, to a large extent due to his postings, I've decided to start going to the yards again recently. (It also helps that it's generally warmer outside these days.) Regardless, I never feel like he's trying to hawk his wares or is somebody I should ignore or anything. I'm assuming the stuff he has for sale is in the Classifieds and, if I were ever interested in purchasing something from him, I'd go about it via that method.

Uncle.Stosh I am looking for front and rear bumpers for my 82 F-150 Stepside. Would prefer black but can repaint whatever you have/find. Let me know if you can get it.

I am going for the 1982 XLS catalog color scheme - black out with stripes. (Looking for the bumpers in this picture)

I've never seen any black bumpers on our trucks, but I must admit that looks pretty sweet. I've also contemplated the blackout front end and after seeing this picture I may go for it.

I wouldn't use black paint if I were you. I would powder coat them for durability.

I've just joined this board and loving seeing pics of parts people have scavenged from wrecking yards. It gives me hope that maybe i'll be able to find some decent used stuff someday.

My truck has a black front bumper, but someone who owned it before painted it.

I'm confused as to whether or not I can find that bumper at LMC and or if I should use a roll pan. Did they use roll pans for 4x4's?

A roll pan never came from the factory that I know of. But if you do not need a bumper, I think they look good. Cleans the truck up in the rear. Unfortunately, I always need a bumper on my trucks.

is that the XL's radio bezel? My truck is missing its and I have no clue which one it is, I like the XLT radio bezels look way better.

Isn't the only difference between an XL and an XLT radio bezel the emblem on it?

My XL in the '85 is the exact same as the one in the '84 XLT Lariat I had way back when, minus the "T" at the end of XLT on the emblem...
