I too have to say that I enjoy seeing Uncle Stosh's posts about salvage yard finds. I like to see what everyone else is finding. I was lucky enough to find an underhood toolbox recently for $5. Few weeks back- 2 EB bucket seats and center console, very good condition, $83. I got all excited at the beginning of the thread about the console. Then I saw it is tan, I am beginning to believe I'll never find a good blue one. Everyone keep your eyes peeled!
From what I gather there are 4 different types of Instrument cluster bezels (technically 6 total including Rosewood and Burlwood with and without a/c vents) and 7 different types of radio bezels (including and omitting the word "Custom" on both early and later style waffle weave not shown).
Shown here are 3 of the 4 different instrument cluster bezels (I have the base model black and gray waffle weave - but didn't have it on hand for the picture).
Shown from left to right: Later XL and XLT Burlwood, Early XL and XLT Rosewood, Early Custom (with silver accent), not shown is the later Custom without silver accent.
Radio Bezels shown left to right: Early XLT (XL is the same style), Early Custom, Later Custom, not shown but available is the later XL and XLT in Burlwood.
I almost forgot: Supposedly (and I am desperately seeking) is a later model Custom like that on the right with clock cutouts. But I have never seen one.
Just when I thought that I had seen every possible radio bezel option, I ran accross this one today. Some idiot butchered it, but I was able to salvage the "Ranger XLT" script off of it.
For what it's worth, I think uncle.stosh is a great asset to this forum. I joined to get practical info, and he's a gold mine of info. I love having a tach, fat steering wheel, and especially intermittent wipers on my stripper 85 F150. Thanks to uncle.stosh and everyone here who shares this info with us.
