I am about to purchase toyo open country m/t 315/75/16. they are going on a 99 f250 4x4 with a levelling kit. # 1 question is will they fit without rub, or very minimal rub? i currently have 305/70/16 and no rub at all. rims are not stock, they are black steel rims 16x8. don't know the amount of backspacing but i don't think they are too different from the stock 16x7 rims i had before because i had the same size tire on those rims seemed to fit the same. in any case, with any normal amount of backspace, is it going to be a squeeze to fit them?
thanks in advance
I ran 315's on my 99.5 F350 without any lift and they only rubbed at full lock and not real bad at that. I just put a leveling kit on my 2000 F350 and I am going to be putting 315's on it.
Hope that helps.
pocket what do you mean by hated the way it handled? in what way was it different? i have 305/70 which is 12.5" wide just like the 315/75 and seems to handle pretty good. do you run wider rims?
The cornering was different. Switching to wider rims really made a huge difference in the way the truck handled turning.
315's are wider than 305's. Also, some tire shops might refuse to mount them for you, since they won't be rated for that narrow of a rim. To them it's a safety issue, and they probably won't want to be held liable.
