ZD-11 GP's are all I would install BTW.

Neal Im half done and its going OK, but when I get ready to get the oil out of the cylinders, do I leave the glow plugs out and turn the truck over?
How will I know if Ive got all the oil out?

So, what did you all do to get the back bolt off to pull the VC on both sides?

Also, where would you recommend I buy the o-rings? Dealer, ebay?

Do I need a torque wrench? In Inch-lbs?

Flea Im almost done mine.
The bolts on the back of the vc I just fought with.
One side was finger loose so that wasnt bad and the other side I just kept trying every combo of extension I had.

I bought my o-rings from Ebay.
They were cheap.
Someone also said the brand I bought were good ones.
Alliant is the brand.

Torque wrench is a must for 120 inch pounds.
My hold down bolts were very tight I was scared I was going to break them taking them out.
Very small bolts that use a 5/16 socket.

Im putting mine back together today so if you have any questions just ask.

Thanks a bunch. I am trying to find out who I should send my injectors to.
I was told once that I had a bad injector. I had smoke when it idled for a bit then I would rev it up to 1800-2200 rpms and a puff of smoke would come out. Ideas?

I have the driver's VC off. I got a Ujoint socket. I am struggling with the pass. side.

I don't know where to start on pulling the injectors. I have read the instructions from Beans and Swamps. Just don't want to mess it up.

My drivers side vc was the hardest.

I didnt drain the oil out of my rails before I pulled the injectors but it sounds like thats ok as long as you make sure its out before you try and start the truck.
Info Ive got is to take out the glow plugs after you put in the injectors then turn the truck over to get the oil out.

Well finally got into the other VC, Pass. side. Found one Push rod bent and not under the rocker arm. I didn't even find the other one. I tried turning the truck over a couple of clicks and nothing ever came up.

Do i have to pull the head?
Is this the sole cause of my power loss, diesel in oil, and bad idles?

Do I still need to pull my injectors?

What kind of commitment is this repair. Does this mean my piston is probably got a hole in it?

after injector o-rings are replaced you have opened teh system to air, it takes ALOT of cranking to fire it up, dont worry it will start. just crank for a while and let it sit, then crank for a while and let it sit, sometimes it will take 2-3 minutes off and on crank times to fire off, also dont be alarmed of the smog cloud you will create for the first 5-10 minutes of running, it will be obnoxious. it will clear up.

Ill go try it again but Ive tryed it for 1/2 hour off and on.
I have the battery charger on it and I let it charge up then I try it.
Its not even trying.

I went out and gave it a "squirt" and that changed its attitude.
It is now running.
I dont know how well until tomorrow when I try it out.
