Hi guys sorry i havent posted latley. Have a quick question for you guys when i start my truck in the mornings it smokes (white) untill it warms up then it quits and doesnt do it till the next morning i thought i read on hear on time that it might be a glow plug? Also its been blowing more black smoke than normal I know that the up pipes are leaking been saveing for the aftermarket ones any help would be appreciated Thanks
If you have a leak on your up-pipes, you are loosing boost. Have you checked your IC boots, and spider boots for leaks? If the boots are full of gunk, take them off and clean them and put thim back on and make sure to tighten them enough not to leak, but not so tight you bend them.
If it is cold when you start your truck, you should get some smoke. The black smoke is from your chip adding fuel but you don't have enough boost to burn clean.
Rick I get white smoke for about 1 second in the morning on really cold mornings. Any more than that, and I would expect an issue to be the cause. Some of the really smart guys can refute or confirm my assertion.
I just took the IC and spider boots off and cleaned them a few weeks ago dont think that they are leaking and i heard that bully dog dont do anything for fuel also it smokes untill its warm or once you get moving
Sounds like a glow plug issue to me. Check to make sure you have no voltage drop across the GPR when it's supposed to be energized. It would be best to have someone turn the key while you have a meter on the GPR (the side that does NOT have voltage on it before the key is on!!). If you have voltage on one side but never on the other, your GPR is dead.
my truck will white smoke until it warms up and nothin is wrong with it i went threw everything on it and nothin seems to be out of place as for the black smoke it is the bully dog....forsure bc their chip is the same as a ts or dp.....ect. just not as big or good (in my eyes) but the smoke is bc the stock turbo can't clean it up what so ever and it might be in a higher setting makin it to over fuel more rather then just a lil.( 100hp setttin will smoke more then the 50hp setting) that kinda thing.
