ive heard of the borg warner turbos goin bad on these things anyone been having problems? wonder how the 6.4 would respond to a single turbo conversion besides lag?
The second turbo is supposed to help the 0-60 time by 1 full second over the 6.0 from what I've read. From my experience, my trucks are pretty laggy of the line anyway, so I wonder how much worse it could be.
I haven't heard of any turbo issues either. The only issues I have heard of that have come up more than once or twice were the injector issues that were installed improperly, the radiators that weren't properly crimped, a few cracked DPFs and a few with oil leaks at the front of the engine. There are couple of people here that seem to have lemons. And there have been other reported issues, but I have not heard of one failed turbo.
i agree, no turbo issues. but i do think some one will come out with a better turbo set up for these trucks. wether it will be single or dual i dont know. but i know better milage numbers can be reached. ive found my milage numbers are directly linked to my boost needle. if i can keep it under 10 on the highway, im gettin between 18 and 20mpg regardless of rpm. as soon as it goes over 10psi it instantly drops to about 13-14mpg. im really hoping a after market company will come out with a better set up.
im thinking my dodge buddy was telling me that bout the turbos goin bad, but he like most dodge people i know hates fords. as of the milage its funny how some people buy these brand new trucks and expect them to be 18+mpg when they drive off the lot not know that they need to broken in to achive good milege but im glad to see they are doing so and not having bad engine problems.
