Replacing passenger window motor

Okay my passenger window motor on my 1998 F-150 started working intermittently. Yeah I know I could try banging on it and did, nothing. Checked to see if switch works with test light. Yep seems to be fine, both up and down function. Bought a replacement motor, and was about to start in on it and thought I'd check it first, as it's a rebuilt motor. I uncoupled the 2 wire connector for the faulty motor. I held my new motor in my hand while holding the wires to connector. Hit up button on switch, works fine. Hit down button - nothing. Huh? The motor itself wasn't grounded(despite my electric personality, my hand is no good as a ground), could that cause the down function to not work?

Okay, so I pull off the driver's side door and uncouple the link for that motor, and try it on that. Well, what the heck, up and down work! So is my passenger side switch broken also?

Since the switch checks out, I would see if you are getting power at the leads which plug into the motor. Could have a bad wire between the switch and motor. Could check with an ohm meter as well.

Well, turns out the passenger side switch was bad. I stupidly didn't take the time to fullly diagnose it. I should have checked the switch better, I can't recall now, but I must not have done so originally. Oh well, it all works now.
