Drivers Power Window not working

I have a 2003 ST, and I"m having problems with the drivers power window. Replaced the motor, master switch, and auto-down relay. All other windows work fine, the window lockout works on the new master switch. I can jumper the window up and down. When I hit the down switch, the auto-down relay buzzes for a second, then stops. I checked the wiring in the door, appears to be OK. If I hit the up or down switch, and check voltage on the connector to the motor, I get +12v on the red and b/w wires. I did this iwth the motor connected. I believe one wire should be at +12v and the other at ground, depending on whether you're hitting the up or down switch. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

unplug your motor then check for power and ground. when going down one should be 12v and the other ground. going the other direction they reverse. the drivers window is controled by the gem. if they both have power then i would check the wiring to make sure they are not shorted to each other. if one has power and the other has no ground then i would check the output from the gem. if it is the same then i would replace the gem.

Thanks, will check GEM

Elmo8641, thanks for the advice. I was afraid of the GEM being the only thing left, as I do not think any wires broke. I'm already in about $200 for a new motor, master switch, and relay, GEM is next.

What is a GEM (generic electronic module)? I have this problem:
I am having the same sort of noise after trying to toggle driver's side window motor switch on and off (up/down). This ticking noise coinciding with toggling is coming from under dash from visible 4 relay area (I assume one relay for each of 4 motors) but replacing one relay from operating windows does not fix the problem. Are all bad? No, can't be. Do all four need to be good for any one to work? Not likely I wouldn't think.

Since it's probably cold in Wappingers Falls currently, are you sure the window isn't just frozen shut? Do you hear/feel the window trying to move when you press the button and hear the relay?

Not frozen, but it is a bit cold. Not unseasonable though

Not frozen, but it is a bit cold. Not unseasonable though. I have it garaged and it's pretty warm there.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.
