Error Code P0460

Hello, new to forum but have seen lots of useful information so thanks to all who can diagnose and give their time to this.

2004 Excursion 6.0L PSD. Does have an aftermarket Viper remote start - but that has been installed for about 6 mos. and works flawlessly (meaning, the car always starts when I push the button).

Last week, for some reason a dash fuse blew - the only thing that was done to the vehicle was replacement of the drivers side lighted running board by my local body shop. When I went to pick up the car - had no gauges, radio, etc. They replaced a fuse and all seemed to work. As I drove away, the engine light was on - but vehicle ran fine. Stopped and filled it with gas and took it home. Plugged in the tester and got code P0460 - Fuel Level Sensor (and reset it).

I have read on here that possibly after-market remote starts cause this. I have also read that "overfilling" the tank can. Oddly, when I fill the truck - it normally says on the overhead that I have 600+ miles to empty. This time it only said 400 or so. Could I possibly have an actual problem with the sensor itself? I've noted a lot of possible causes on here - but has anyone who has been through this actually done / found something that resolved this?

Thanks, Mike Please e-mail me any thoughts to mlshelton@aol.com also. I've posted this down in the PSD section also...
