NP273 transfer case????
Hey all,
I have a 2000 F250 7.3L with the 4R100 automatic transmission with the NP273 (electric shift) transfer case. Mine has the 31 spline on the transfer case.
Will the NP273 (electric shift) off of a 2005 5R110 (auto) fit exactly with my 4R100? Does it have the same 31 spline? Also, is there any internal operating differences because of the 2 transmission types?

I believe the t-cases are the same, but you might call a salvage yard and ask them about the interchange, or look at car-parts.com, put in your truck and see if 2005s come up as interchangeable. You could also call the dealer...

The 5 speed automatic (5R110W?) uses a 34 spline TC.
1999-2003 transfer cases (automatic and manual except 6 speed) used a 31 spline TC.
1999-2005 6 speed manual uses a 24 spline TC.
