I think the pcm controls it with one of these wires I think it simply grounds out one of the two wires if I could find out which one I will put a switch in I know if the truck is warm it doesn't need the sticks .I think this would extend the life of the batteries ,the glow plugs, and the undercover harnesses really you only need glow plugs in the morning for first start up or if it has been sitting for a bit.

The purple and orange wire is the one you would switch to ground. the red and light green is the constant power.

If you do use a switch to turn the on only use a momentary switch where you have to hold down or over to activate other wise you will leave them on and that is bad!

The cali will cel.
The pcm takes 2 readings. 1st at key on. 2nd after 30sec after key on.
Oil temp can over ride 2nd reading.

i was thinking put the relay on the switch tim... like one of the power wires going to the relay tap a switch in there... and turn them off when not needed... and when you need the turn them on... that way the pcm will not let you accidentally leave them on for a long period of time...

Ive had 2 diffrent trucks with buttons for the glow plugs.
I just sold a 94 that had a pushbutton glow plug.
But i dont have a clue how they were hooked up but I could probably find out.
The guy that bought my last truck lives not far from me , maybe I can go look.
