I don,t like the fact that the glow plugs cycle every time I start up warm or not just seems like a waste especially in the summer.
It,s not like the good old days when fuel was cheap I find myself turning my truck off more that means more starting and more draw on the batteries and more wear on the glow plugs
I think it will be ok as long as I cycle the plugs a couple times a day not being used is a bad thing as well
OK youse guys stop the bickering here is what wire goes where:
Standing at the front of your truck and viewing the GPR. The shunt is to your left. The small wire terminal at the top (b) goes to fuse #22 then on to your Ign. The small terminal at the bottom (a) goes to PIN #101 then to the PCM.
Do to the fact that both A & B are hot on start up the choice is yours as I don't know would happen if either was "Switched".
My humble opinion is to switch #A but then again I already told you I don't know. But looking at the schematic if "B" didn't get power I don't think you would start as "B" appears to energize the GPR.
The purple and orange wire is the one you would switch to ground. the red and light green is the constant power.
The Purple/orange wire is the PCM controlled ground. Wire one end of the switch to the relay and the other to a ground source. Flick the switch GP's on.
I would bet that your blue is a discolored purple. Easy check is to unhook the Blue (or Purple) wire and see which one has power. the reason they both have power on them is because the coil in the relay become part of the wire when it has no ground to continue thru. One wire is constant power one is PCM controlled ground.
The Purple/orange wire is the PCM controlled ground. Wire one end of the switch to the relay and the other to a ground source. Flick the switch GP's on.
The purple/orange wire (A) goes to Pin #101 so I guess that is the PCM ground? That wire is hot when the relay is energized. Sounds like fuse replacement time to me or something worst.

The EOT/Baro/Batt voltage determines the on time.
Gp's do not cycle with hot EOT.
Warm EOT they cycle to keep self cleaned.
Every time you key the ignition the WTS lamp cycles thru a lamp self check.
Lamp has nothing to do with the GP's
