I have a new F-150 crew with the tinted side-windows. After picking it up and washing it the first time I noticed the tinted side windows had what looked like water spots. I assumed that I would be able to clean them off with window cleaner but they won't come out. I used a window polish on them, the same polish recommended for convertible plastic windows and mirrors etc, but the "spots" are still there. I checked out a Lariat and another F-150 that I ran across in a parking lot and they had the same problem. Anyone know what this is and how to get them out?
I used to work at a JohnDeere dealership and when the tractors finally arrived in California they had lots of waterspots. You might try regular white vinigar and lots of papertowels, it worked for us.
Same problem here. I tried rubbing the glass with CLR. It didn't work. Tried vinegar, no luck there either. I grabbed my bottle of Meguires paint cleaner, put some on a rag and rubbed the heck out of a small spot on the back window. Most of the spots disappeared. I spent nearly two hours working on the rest of the back window and got it looking pretty good. You have to wipe the dickens out of the glass with a clean towel to get rid of the wax, and then wash it several time with some good glass cleaner to get rid of the rest of the residue. Looks a bunch better, but there is more work to be done.
