Where can I find the complete breakdown of F-series production figures; F-150 to F-750, consumer vs. fleet sales? Either 2000 or 2001 figures would be fine. Also, am I correct that the F-450 is considered a heavy-duty truck? This site is huge, perhaps there's a better location to post this question? Thanks in advance--
One more thing: can someone detail the difference between 'light-duty' and 'heavy-duty' trucks, as classified by the government/DOT? Is it a weight break (GVWR?) at 1-ton?
My F-150 is considered a 1/2-ton, but I have a payload spring package of 500lbs... that's another 1/4-ton, so I guess I have a 3/4-ton truck. Further, if a F-350 is indeed a light duty truck and it's actually a 3/4-tonner, but you toss a 1/4-ton payload package on it, is it considered a heavy-duty by the DOT because it's now a 1-tonner? Or does Ford not offer such a possibility?
