I removed the complete deck from my pickup box over the weekend and delivered the rest of the box to get it sandblasted yesterday. gonna put either diamond plate steel or dimond plate aluminum. leanin more to the aluminum(nose bleed department) my question is i know there is a sealant (caulking of some sort) that is used on the seams and edges and was curious if anyone has used the stuff and what kind is it and where to get it? boy that was a mouthfull. At one time i had thought about removing the bed from another truck and installing it in mine to save some money but by the time i got the bed out of mine i realized that it is almost an imposibility to take them off without ruining them. it took me 11 cutting wheels and a torch to remove the old bed and it was about half rotton. It's body sealer that you can buy from most automotive refinishing stores. I know Eastwood carries the stuff but I am sure you can get it locally for a tad cheaper. Here is just a quick example. Reason: missing info
Yes they are held on by carrage bolts. I cut the floor out of the pickup box itself as it was all bent up and rusted through in four or five spots. priced diamond plate and aluninum plate today.the steel is $135.00 and the aluminum is $375. man, could almost go searching for another donor. now there would be a nose bleed if i brought another truck home.
